About The Episode

School Reunion is about the Doctor, Rose, Mickey, Sarah Jane and K9 saving the world. Sound normal for a Doctor Who episode? Of course, but it's also about the Doctor coming to terms with the fact that he does break hearts and his companions have to go back to a normal life after he's shown them the universe. And it hurts. Rose has to realise that there have been those the Doctor has loved and traveled with before her, and there will be those after her. Mickey admits that he's really, only the 'tin dog', the one who has no real point and just hangs around giving a hand when he's needed (thankfully, he disproves this in a acts of bravado in later episodes) and Sarah Jane wants closure from the Doctor -- a final, real, farewell. All in all, it's a wonderful episode for both fans of the classic series and the new ones.
